FEbruary updates

Hi, All.

I’d love to share a glimpse into one of the new projects that I’ve been working on with Jessica Kalmar for our joint creative adventure, ellipsis. This particular series is currently untitled - we’re calling it the “fix-it” project.

It is a photographic dialogue between two artists, similar to the exquisite corpse method in which participants take turns augmenting a piece of art and passing it along to the next person in line.

The format proposed here will be that Artist 1 photographs the original image of something ‘broken’ and sends it to Artist 2. Next, Artist 2 will ‘fix’ it in whichever digital or analog method desired, then return to Artist 1. Finally, Artist 1 will make any additional adjustments to begin the ‘healing’ process, yielding the final image.

exciting exhibition news

Hello, Friends and Art Lovers!

Long time, no blog! It’s great to be back and sharing news with you after such a long hiatus.

I am super excited to finally be offering a glimpse at the artistic collaboration I have been a part of for the last 4 years with fellow photographer, Jessica Kalmar. This undertaking is called ellipsis. Since 2018, we have been producing several photographically based bodies of work that you can check out on our website. You’ll also find some works in progress, exhibition details, and behind the scenes intel.

Currently, we are preparing for our first ellipsis exhibition in Toronto as part of the 26th Edition of the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival which will open on May 1st.  We will be showing a selection of images from our Quarantine Book Club series.

Stay tuned for pictures from the show and our opening reception. Fun fact: This exhibition will be the first time Jessica and I will see each other in person since we began collaborating four years ago.

Mere Bodies or Something More?

Hi, Everyone. 

As one of the founding members of the Women’s Art Project, I am proud to invite you to our exhibition, Mere Bodies or Something More?, at the Red Head Gallery (401 Richmond St. W, Suite 115).

The show runs from the Monday, the 20th until the Saturday, the 25th and the reception will be held on Friday, the 24th from 5-8pm.
